Summary
By the euronews, Amsterdam tries out a new business model for prostitution named "My Red Light" to empowers right of sex workers and protect them from insecurity in the way of providing support and knowledge for them to run their own business.
Although most of sex workers operate in autonomous manner with tax number, in most cases, the prostitutes rent the windows through intermediaries, which increases the chances of labour exploitation. Also, lunched by the municipality of Amsterdam, reduction of windows is part of the project 1012 and this reduction forces many sex workers to put themselves into a vulnerable position outside the district. With this model, brothel management are in charge of My Red Light members which follows a self-management model regarding aspects such as architecture, illumination and the structure of the rooms. Yvette Luhrs, president of Dutch Union for Sex workers expect 'My Red Light' would help within the current circumstances for sex workers.
Persuasive
Personally, I think prostitution should be legal industry in Korea for safety of sex workers, benefit from admitting prostitution as a legal industry and difficulty of total elimination of prostitution. Most prostitute in Korea is involved in or under the control of gangs which means they are vulnerable to exploitation and human trafficking. As prostitution is banned in Korea, income of prostitute is non - taxed, money and power is required to regulate prostitution. Imposing tax to this industry and controling prostitute in safe way with this tax would be benefit to government. Most of all, desire of sex is natural human instinct. More government put time and efforts to remove it, more this industry goes to world of shade. which can make chance of corruption of government forces such as police high. If it is hard to remove it, it is more safe and helpful to acknowledge it.
